We had Exterior Design & Decks replace our old deck and could not be happier. Rich and his team were always helpful and professional, from concept to completion. We now have proper outdoor living areas both up top and below! Highly recommend this company!

This was our second project with Exterior Designs. The first project enlarged the existing deck and added a pergola. Since it was done extremely well we engaged Exterior Designs for the addition of a gas fire place. Rich, Val, and Chris were great to work with again. The work was done in a quality manner and when we had an electrical issue Rich remedied it on his nickel. I can’t say enough about Oliver who did the majority of the work on the project. He was meticulous with his craftsmanship and came on the days he said he would be there. When the TV mounting took longer than expected he stayed to complete the job even though he had another commitment as well. I highly recommend Exterior Designs. They stand behind their work, they honor their estimates without surprise costs, and they have integrity.

We contacted Exterior Design and Decks to build a composite deck to replace our rotten wood deck. Rich Thomas responded to our call, set up a meeting, came to our home to hear what we wanted to replace the old deck. He took pictures of the old space and wrote down what we wanted. He provided a drawing and an cost estimate of the job. Once we agreed to the price and drawing, we signed a contract. Before the project was started, he gave us opportunity to make minor changes to our design; once we were satisfied, the job began. The workers came out, tore down our old deck, the debris was put in a dumpster (it was delivered to our home prior to the start of the job). The workers were polite, skilled and did not waste time. They constructed the composite deck within two weeks (weather delays); we selected the paint/stain colors and they painted and stained the deck. Once finished, our yard was neat and any excess supplies were removed. We are very pleased with the deck. Any concerns we had we would address them with the crew and also would call, text or email Rich and he would respond immediately. What we agreed to in the contract is what we got (we added two items which the cost was adjusted to our satisfaction). The workers and Rich were professional and polite. If Rich agreed to an appointment, he stuck to it. Once the project was completed, the dumpster was removed within 3 days. The deck is beautiful and worth the price. The only delays we had were due to the weather. We are so pleased with the deck and would recommend Exterior Designs & Decks.

Our 30 year old Wood Deck needed to be replaced and we decided to replace it with a Sunroom. After meeting with contractors we decided on Exterior Design and Decks. Our neighbor who used them was very happy and after meeting with Rich and Val (owners) we decided they were the ones. So glad we did as the project turned out extremely well. Val's expertise in managing the project was superb. We are so thrilled we chose them. Attached pictures show how it turned out.

We worked with Exterior Design & Decks to replace our old deck with a beautiful screened-in porch. Rich and Val were fantastic to work with and they created an awesome outdoor living space for us. Alfresco meals, lounging with fire and movie, and holiday entertaining have all been enjoyed to a new level outside, inside our new porch!. We've especially enjoyed the consistent compliments we receive from friends and neighbors about the comfort, design, and quality workmanship of the job done by ED&D. A construction project in the midst of these crazy pandemic times created challenges, but except for a few delays waiting on materials or specialty subs, steady progress was made on our project... and when the delays occurred, communications always remained open and responsive! We wanted a screened porch on our existing back patio and Exterior Design put together a perfect plan for our 27'x13' porch. This was during an interesting time of Covid early this year when prices and lead times for materials were going up but our overall price remained the same as contracted. Rich and his construction crews got the job done in a good amount of time and Rich also got us thru the Sandy Springs approval process pretty efficiently during Covid procedures here. The Exterior Design work crews for carpentry, electrical, painting, and tile were really good to work with - good work and nice guys. We highly recommend Exterior Design + Decks and have done so to neighbors.

Exterior Design + Decks company was referred to us by a friend. We carefully vetted their work and visited a deck that they built. It was clear from the discussion of our friends that they were pleased with ED+D's work. We had also gotten other bids, and ED+D came in similar if not better than other bidders. The design process was smooth and Richard Thomas, the owner, and his son-in-law assisted with the design. They had great ideas but also listened to what we wanted. The crews started on time, worked hard every day, and were extremely professional. It was clear they were masters of their craft. Whenever there was a question or hiccup, they responded quickly and with genuine interest. They fixed any issues we were concerned about or wanted to address. The finished product is absolutely beautiful and everything we wanted. I could not be happier with their service and the end product. I would highly recommend them, without any reservation. Just completing a deck project with ED+D and am very pleased with every aspect. The management is professional and delivered on everything promised. I cannot begin to say how much I enjoyed the crew and their work. Their attention to detail is as good as it gets and gave me confidence that everything would be done right. I complimented a particular aspect and his response was, "We build as if it our home". They were so pleasant to have working each day, I think I might miss em! I would not hesitate in hiring this company again or recommending their work.

Exterior Design + Decks just completed a covered patio and pergola for us - very happy with the result. The design is exactly what we were looking for - despite several iterations we asked for. The crew and workmanship were really great and was done on time. There was a slight delay to get started, but only because they were busy with other projects (a good sign) and once they started with us it moved quickly. Highly recommend.

Exterior design knows how to build amazing decks. Val and team did an excellent job building our deck. They are experienced, accommodating, great to work with and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

We had ED&D take our covered deck to a screened in porch while adding an additional grill deck. Rich helped us think of things we might be forgetting up front and let us know an expected time line from day 1. Val oversaw the project and kept us in the loop whenever something might benefit from a change during construction - available via text and phone throughout. We were very pleased with the final product.

I normally don't write reviews for just good work because I feel that is what should be expected when you come to an agreement on a job. I am writing this review because after about 6 months, one of the doors stopped functioning 100% and I reached back out to Rich. He had someone stop by within a week and completely fix the door.

Projects hit snags, expectations change while construction is progressing, but to stand behind your work and respond quickly after a previous client reached out is something I think should be recognized. Would definitely recommend this company.

Design & Deck. They did awesome job, brought-to code, secured permits and all inspections.
Added decorative lighting. Complete tear down
And replaced with Trex. Total clean up and haul away. Exterior Design & Deck, did everything they said they would do. I totally recommend this company, ask for Rich. They did Excellent job.

My deck is incredible; the craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding! In addition, the men that built my deck were courteous, picked everything up each day, and went out of their way to not be intrusive. This is the company to use if you want a good experience and a quality deck.

Oliver and the team did a great job constructing our screened in porch. Although weather did not always cooperate, they did their very best to meet the deadline that was given to ensure the project was complete prior to a surprise birthday party for my wife. The issues were very minor and anything that was brought to Oliver's attention was quickly fixed. I would absolutely do business with Exterior Design + Decks in the future.

We had ED&D replace a 20 year old wood deck that was rotted and dangerous. Rich came out to the house and discussed options and design ideas that we used. Including deck design, different types of railings, lighting and replacing our old ceiling with stained tongue and grove ceiling (beautiful). His quote was better than the other estimate we obtained and it included new footers and substructure that was needed to support the heavier Trex boards which the other estimate did not.

They completed the work on time, on budget and with the proper permits. Of all the contractors we have had in the past two years (and we had a lot!), ED&D were the best to deal with.

I would recommend ED&D unconditionally to anyone needing their services.

Exterior Designs and Decks built a gorgeous 19x 14-foot screened- in porch and an elaborate shed that I designed. The price they quoted was very fair and the work was exceptional. I spoke with a number of contractors before I decided on Exterior Designs and Decks. I loved that they came with a portfolio of their work they were professional every step of the way. Rich and Val did everything they promised (and more). I am on the board for our HOA and I’ve recommended them to all of our neighbors (and friends). You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent experience delivering a big Trex composite project. The crew worked extremely hard and had to deal with rainy conditions along the way. I had encountered a few design issues from the original plan and Val was able to provide expert advice and delivered my dream deck. Excellent service – everything went smoothly & well coordinated with subcontractors. We had a small hitch, but the company took care of it immediately. They are professional through & through, and if I ever need another project, I will not hesitate to use them. I had them do an area for a hot tub that we purchased, and we receive many compliments. My only problem is that we paid to have ceiling fans wired & hung under the decking, but we can’t do 1 of them because my hot tub cover lifts too close to the deck-under-cover. Small issue for the quality of work & professionalism we received.

We added a wooden deck with built in bench, a flagstone patio with a gable roof and a wooden privacy fence. The work was wonderful. The deck and patio looks better than we could dream. The price was a bargain. We got more than we ever expected. And Tom the master carpenter is the best. He can build anything to perfection. Rich and Val were very nice and professional. I will use them again when I am ready to build the front patio.

We hired Exterior Decks and Design to create an attached screened-in porch on the back of our house. From the consultation through the project end, the team was always responsive and provided clear details for every step. We worked with Chris on our proposal and Valiant managed our project. Valiant and his team welcomed our wants and needs, as well as gave recommendations to help us make decisions when needed. The teams always came to work when expected and kept the site clean, putting away or removing tools each day. This was much appreciated considering that our kids play in the backyard not far from the construction site. Every single person on this team was so great to work with and extremely skilled! We added a few extras and they made it happen. The only delays were due to the weather. Our porch turned out beautifully and we could not be happier. We highly recommend EDD for your project!
